Excellent work! These are great tools to generate design ideas. This is an area where I’m very weak so I really appreciate the assistance. How did you create the three panels with the drop shadows?

We use Adobe Illustrator to create these images. We build them into Layouts so it looks good, and doesn’t require you to have to generate all the content just to make a report look good.

How can I apply this layout to a file created earlier

    • Mike Carlo

One way is to publish your existing report into PowerBI.com, Then use a live connection. This is found under Get Data, then click on Power BI Datasets. This will open up a window that allows you to select the workspace and data set that was previously published to the service.

An alternative is to copy each table from your existing report into the Layout. This also requires the set up of additional measures, and relationships between tables. This is much slower, and harder to transfer if you have a lot of tables and measures in your data model.
