What is a Power BI theme JSON file?
A Power BI theme is a JSON file that sets colors, fonts, icons, and visual properties so every page looks the same. Desktop can set a simple palette. A full theme file goes much deeper, and that file is hard to write by hand.
How do I import a theme into Power BI Desktop?
Download the JSON from the generator. In Desktop go to View → Themes → Browse for themes and pick the file. Apply the theme before you customize visual properties on the page, or those overrides will block the theme.

In February 2023 Microsoft tightened theme validation so uploads must match the schema. Files that used to load can fail. The generator emits files that match the current validation rules.
